Dhana Trayodashi, most popularly called as Dhanteras is an auspisuious day which comes just before diwali on every year. 

On this special day, the titihi as per hindu panchag is trayodashi and god of health dhanvantri took birth on this day during samudra mathna, hence the day is called as Dhana trayodashi. In India this day is cosnidered auspicious for buying gold and silver, but less know things tomany people is that, not only gold and silver, anything can be purchased on this day like metals-house utensils, bangles, brass items, new clothes, vehicles, mobiles whatever your purchase is pending for.

Diwali celebrations is more famous for lakshmi pooja at house, shops, various industries and the to prepare for lakshmi pooja we will buy new clothes, gold,silver and whatever we feel asupious for us and for performing lakshmi pooja, this is what our ancestors followed. but now a days, this is more emphasizing towards purchase of gold and silver, but do remember anything you can afford only you should buy and dont risk yourself to buy things which are beyond your budget.
